New Blog Domain!

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by! I recently purchased a new blog domain. To read my new posts please visit I am providing this link because I am too cheap to purchase a redirection package from WordPress. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my new blog site!

Moving Forward

First off, I want to say thank you to all the people who commented on my most recent post. I honestly was hovering over the “publish” button for a long time because I wasn’t sure how the community would react. I was touched by a lot of the comments and it was interesting to learn that I’m not the only one out there that feels the same way in those situations. I thank you all for that.

Moving forward, many of you know that I was flip-flopping between my Druid and Priest for Patch 4.3. The new expansion was really gonna set the tone for what I wanted from my main healer and I came to a decision:

I think a huge part of this decision was the difference between the Priest community and the Druid community. That’s not to say the Priest community isn’t good, it’s just that I feel quite a bit of love from the Druid community, more-so than I have ever felt from fellow Priests. I’ve never been part of a community that is so tight-knit before and willing to help each other out with posts/theories or just plain fun. Every single one of the Druid bloggers/players/theory-crafters I have spoken/chatted with have treated me with nothing but the most respect and kindness that I have experienced with this game, and I can’t turn my back on that.

So, from here on out I’ll be focusing much more on Druid topics. Priests may appear here-and-there, but the main focus of my posts will be about Druids. I hope you all enjoy my future posts from here on. Thanks for your patronage and support!

Mean Girls

I’ve been mulling over this post for quite a while. It’s been in the back of my head nagging at me ever since I got home from Blizzcon. It probably would have been a better idea to talk to a few people about how I was feeling while I was at the Con and I did confide into one or two people, but it didn’t really help much. I just don’t do well with confrontation. Continue reading

Mists of Pandaria: Talent Preview for Healing Priests

The new expansion is here! I’ll be honest, when I first saw the preview I REALLY thought it was a joke. I mean, Pandas? Really? But as I thought about it more and more, it started to grow on me. Well, as you all know, with a new expansion comes CHANGES! Our talent system is completely getting overhauled. Blizzard is “cutting the fat” from our talent trees. No more “Increases X by Y” talents! They are all finally pure utility talents and you can choose the ones that suit YOUR character and YOUR play-style the best! Continue reading

Make Way for the Heathers! The Week of Blizzcon is Here!

As many of you already know, I am attending Blizzcon this year! I have a better idea of what I will be doing when I’m there so I figured I should throw my schedule out there for anyone who’s in the area as well.

Wednesday 10/19

I will be waking up at the butt-crack of dawn and start my lonely drive down to the LA area. I live in Sacramento so it’s about a 6-6 1/2 hour drive. I have Double Stuft Oreo’s to tie me over for the trip!

Objectives: Check into the hotel before LA traffic hits.

I’ll be staying at the Doubletree Anaheim Hotel if anyone is wondering. It’s just a few short blocks from the convention center and it luckily offers a free shuttle. Later that night I might be going out to dinner with my fellow guildmates: Lissanna from Restokin and her husband Mike from Malchome’s Mind on Gaming.

Thursday 10/20

I’ll be taking my time getting up today. Most of the things I’ll be doing won’t be until the afternoon. If anyone wants to meet for a morning Starbucks run just hit me up on Twitter!

Objectives: Locate and secure both a bossy pally and a tall, loud redhead and bring them back to base. The Heathers will then make our way to the WoW Insider/Wowhead meet-up located at the Anabella Hotel.

I’m gonna do my best not to drink too much. I don’t want many of the people that I know through the WoW Twitter community to think “Omg Juvenate is a hot sloppy mess.” I’d like to still be able to hold a conversation with people and form coherent sentences.

Friday 10/21

First day of Blizzcon! I will probably try to hang out with Lissanna and Mike while we are at the convention center because they seem to have a much better idea of what to attend than I do! I will also be making another morning Starbucks run if anyone is interested!

Objectives: Attend the first day of Blizzcon. Later, meet fellow bloggers and WoW players at the Twisted Nether meet-up located at Bar Louie.

Saturday 10/22

Second and last day of Blizzcon! Again, Lissanna and Mike will have a much better schedule than I could ever put together! I will again be making an early Starbucks run.

Objectives: Attend final day and closing ceremonies at Blizzcon. Later, possibly attend the unofficial Blizzcon after-party in the Hilton lobby. There will supposedly be a party on the pool deck but apparently you have to be a guest to go inside. So instead, I’ll be hanging out in the lobby/bar area and hopefully you will too!

Sunday 10/23

Pack-up and say goodbye! I have a 6 hour drive ahead of me, so I’ll be waking up early and heading out ASAP!

I will be tweeting nearly non-stop while I’m in Anaheim. Feel free to shoot me a DM if you want to meet-up somewhere!

Crossing the Line

I’m gonna just jump right into the meat of this post. Blizzard has recently announced the new “Guardian Cub” pet that will be available at the pet store. You can read about it here. It will also be the first in-game “trade-able” pet, meaning you can purchase it and trade it in-game with anyone. You can even sell it on the AH.

As I was reading the blue post it seemed kind of like a nice idea until I came to this question:

Q: Could I put the Guardian Cub up on the auction house to try to make some gold if I wanted to?

While our goal is to offer players alternative ways to add a Pet Store pet to their collection, we’re ok with it if some players choose to use the Guardian Cub as a safe and secure way to try to acquire a little extra in-game gold without turning to third-party gold-selling services. However, please keep in mind that there’s never any guarantee that someone will purchase what you put up for sale in the auction house, or how much they’ll pay for it. Also, it’s important to note that we take a firm stance against buying gold from outside sources because in most cases, the gold these companies offer has been stolen from compromised accounts. (You can read more about our stance here.) While some players might be able to acquire some extra gold by putting the Guardian Cub in the auction house, that’s preferable to players contributing to the gold-selling “black market” and account theft.

I’m shocked. I’m flabbergasted. The ability to “trade” this pet for in-game gold is no different from what 3rd party gold spammers do. It’s INDIRECTLY selling gold. Blizzard might not be handing you gold directly for money, but they are providing ways to make gold with real-life cash which is something that has ALWAYS been frowned upon. Blizzard is no longer any different than the gold spammers who troll in Trade Chat.

I’m starting a boycott with this pet. I’m not gonna buy it. I’m not gonna feed the machine. If Blizzard makes a good buck off this pet, what’s next? Mounts? Tokens? Boss Kills? We need to stop this train before it turns into a wreck.
